The Importance of Licenses
A thread license means the connection's owner has audited GKB's equipment, people and process, and qualified them to cut that connection to the owner's specification. It is a qualification renewed under audit rather than a claim.
It is also the reason premium connections can be threaded in Guyana at all. Without the license, the work leaves the country whatever machinery is on the floor.
Thread licenses
GKB holds premium connection licenses from JFE Steel, Tenaris and NOV Grant Prideco, alongside API threading certification.

API and quality standards
API 5CT governs casing and tubing, and API 5B the threading, gauging and inspection of their connections. API 7-1 covers rotary drill stem elements and API 7-2 the threading of rotary shouldered connections. API Q1 is the quality management specification written for manufacturers supplying the oil and gas industry, and ISO 9001 is the general quality standard beneath it.
Under API 5B the casing and tubing threads are Buttress (BC), Long Round (LC), Short Round (SC), Non-Upset (NU), External Upset (EU) and Integral Joint (IJ). Under API 7-2 the rotary shouldered connections are the Numbered Connection (NC) series, Full Hole (FH), Regular (REG) and Internal Flush (IF).
Local Content Certification is separate from the technical standards. It is what allows an operator to count work placed with GKB toward its obligations under Guyana's local content framework.
Certificate numbers
These are GKB's API license and registration numbers: API Spec 5B license 5B-0338, API Spec 7-2 license 7-2-1212, API Q1 registration Q1-4767 and ISO 9001 registration ISO-5106. Each can be verified on the API Composite List.

Material Proficiency
Diverse material proficiency from carbon grade, high yield strength materials, CRA including nickel alloy and more.
Corrosion resistant alloys are the demanding half of that sentence. They work-harden under the tool and punish feeds and speeds set for carbon steel, so running them well is a capability in its own right.
