What GKB does at Enmore
GKB manufactures, machines, treats and repairs oilfield equipment at Enmore, on the East Coast Demerara. Until recently most of this work left Guyana and came back weeks later.
Most jobs cross more than one of the services below. A string of returned drill pipe is inspected, repaired, re-threaded and re-coated before it goes back out, and all four steps happen on the same site.
OCTG threading and connections
GKB holds thread licenses from JFE Steel, Tenaris and NOV Grant Prideco. Each licensor has audited GKB's equipment, people and process and qualified them to cut its proprietary connections, which is what allows premium connections to be threaded in Guyana rather than shipped out.
API connections are cut to specification alongside the licensed premium ones. Torque-turn monitoring records every makeup, so each connection leaves with a record of how it was assembled.
Casing, tubing and drill pipe are threaded full length or end finished, and API rotary shouldered connections are cut and repaired alongside the licensed premium ones.

Coatings and surface treatment
Enmore runs the only dedicated plating line in South America.
Surface treatment does real work on a threaded connection. Phosphate coatings hold thread compound and resist galling on makeup, and a galled connection on the rig floor becomes a fishing job. The treatment applied depends on the connection, the service and the operator's specification.
The line takes joints up to {maximum length} by {maximum diameter}.
Drill pipe and OCTG services
Pipe comes back from the rig in unknown condition. The question that matters is which joints are fit to run again.
GKB receives rig returns at Enmore, inspects them and reports what is serviceable, what is repairable and what is not. Repairable joints are re-cut, swaged or stress relieved and returned to service, which is usually the difference between a repair invoice and a procurement cycle.
Inspection is performed to {inspection standard} using {NDE methods}. Every joint is returned with {report type}.
Manufacturing and fabrication
Work arrives either as a drawing to be produced exactly or as a requirement to be engineered first. GKB takes both.
Build-to-print work is manufactured to the customer's drawing under the customer's revision control. Where no drawing exists, GKB's engineers design to the requirement and manufacture on the same site, so the design and the machine stay in one conversation.
Drill string components are manufactured and repaired at Enmore: subs, crossovers, drill collars and OEM components, alongside API and premium drill pipe with rotary shouldered connections.

Customer Inventory services
Pipe spends more of its life waiting than working, and how it is stored decides what condition it is in when it is finally needed. GKB holds customer tubulars at Enmore, indoors and out, with tally, cleaning, thread inspection and reclamation, so stored pipe comes back out in known condition.
Enmore holds {indoor capacity} under cover and {outdoor capacity} in the yard.
In-country service provider
Everything above is delivered from Guyana, which is the point. Enmore is close to the GYSBI shore base and a truck fleet is available around the clock, so tubulars move between the base, the yard and the machine floor without waiting on an import.
